She has worked in a variety of settings, including Ottawa County CMH, crisis centers, youth programs and schools. She is experienced working with individuals and couples dealing with depression, anxiety, stress and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Robin has a special interest in women’s issues, including relationship struggles, parenting and life-adjustment issues. She enjoys an open-ended approach to counseling, while implementing a variety of helping techniques including traditional psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and relaxation training.

Robin has recently added a new specialty of treatment for psychologically-based insomnia or sleep disorders that cannot be attributed to medical conditions. This would include help with difficulty falling or staying asleep, early morning wakening, and poor sleep habits. Treatment includes identifying stressors and learned sleep-preventing associations as well as fears associated with insomnia (loss of control over sleep, decreased day-time functioning) while also addressing sleep hygiene, “racing mind” and mood and anxiety issues. Her current schedule is limited to Tuesdays and Thursdays at the office. Call Judy or Carol at (231) 737-1213.
